In the Panfilov district, it is proposed to cover part of the sugar demand with corn syrup produced at the Zharkent Starch and Syrup Plant, reportsBusiness Kazakhstan.
Corn contains up to 75% sugar, so the syrup is used in the food industry and cooking as a thickener and sweetener. Thus, it can be used as a substitute for natural sugar, the press service of the akim of the Zhetisu region reports.
By the way, the volume of sugar consumption in the country is 550 thousand tons, and half is production demand. The main part of this need is ready to compensate for the Zharkent starch plant. To do this, it is planned to open a new line and expand the enterprise. Akim of the region Beibit Isabayev got acquainted with the plans and projects for the development of this area today during a working trip to the Panfilov district.
As it became known, the company produces 75 thousand tons of corn syrup per year, providing large confectionery factories and beverage factories with the necessary products. In the near future, there are plans to almost double the capacity. In general, the plant produces 28 types of products with in-depth processing of 120 thousand tons of corn per year. As part of the expansion of the enterprise, it is planned to receive up to 200 thousand tons of corn. At the same time, the akim of the region noted the need to stimulate farmers.
As part of the trip, Beibit Isabayev also visited the nearby enterprise for the production of polypropylene bags "Universal", where the plant produces about 50 million bags per year.
